Here is my finished watercolor painting, Prickly Pear Cactus. It is part of a series of small paintings, 8″ X 10″. It is the first painting I have done on cold press (the traditional surface for watercolor) paper in a long while. I usually use hot press with a smooth surface. Watercolor painters, what kind of paper do you use?

Hi Anna. I will make prints of some small paintings after I have a few more in the series to choose from. Let me know if you would like me to notify you when I have prints ready.

Hi Judith,
very nice painting you did! I am a great mixed media fan; or say it that way: what ever I start ,sooner or late,r ends up as mixed media, I just develop the picture or painting or sculpture when I go along……But in the past I have done watercolour on both papers, but I think I will prefer nourdays the cold pressed version for a looser style. I would be very interested to see your series prints. Could you please notify us all when they are ready.
Thank you and happy painting.

Hi Christiana, your mixed media paintings and sculptures sound interesting. You must have a significant stash of materials to pull from. Thanks for your kind comments and for letting me know the paper you use. I will certainly post about any prints I have made from this series for all to see. For now I am still working on the series of small paintings each about 8″ X 12″. These are the smallest paintings I have created so far; most of my work is half-sheet, 15″ X 22″ or full sheet, 22″ X 30″.
